RAM SPORTS WELCOMES NEW SALES DIRECTOR 0

As the equipment and teamwear supplier to Rugby and Cricket clubs, schools and organisations looks to the future and welcomes a new member to the business, Ram Sports managing director Tristan Aylward acknowledges the past few months haven’t been without their challenges.

“In mid-March, as the country went into lockdown, our clubs and schools business literally disappeared overnight, but thankfully we saw a significant increase in orders from individuals looking to train at home.”

With many clubs and schools now resuming their sporting activities and training sessions, Ram Sports have taken the opportunity to reinstate all members of staff who were previously furloughed.

“It’s clearly going to be an interesting time ahead, and I’m absolutely thrilled to have Mike Pells joining as our new sales director,” says Tristan. “Mike comes with many years’ industry experience and I’m confident he’ll help steer the company through these uncertain waters.”

Now more than ever, clubs, schools and organisations are looking to suppliers to provide excellent value and reliable service, and Ram is ideally positioned to fulfil these demands due to the quality of its Rugby and Cricket equipment and clothing, and its online and account manager sales channels that enable customers to access everything they need through one supplier.

Mike Pells comments: “I’m delighted to be joining Ram at such an exciting time. Over recent years, the business has made some significant strides in terms of offering the very best products and increasing brand recognition in the industry, both in the UK and internationally. The team will be working hard in partnership with new and existing customers to get everyone fully engaged with sporting activities as soon as we can.”

Fundraising Ideas from Ram Rugby 0

The impact of Coronavirus has hit sport particularly badly, but we have used some of this enforced downtime to talk to many of our customers, listening to their thoughts and also brainstorm ideas amongst the RAM team.

I wanted to share some of the fundraising ideas that we have had. I hope you find some useful. If you have other brainwaves please do get in touch.

Commission for referrals
In usual times a high percentage of our business is with clubs and schools. You will appreciate that currently this activity has fallen significantly.
A lot of our training products are suitable for individual or home use. If you would like to earn a commission for the club just ask, and we will supply you with a club specific code to be input at checkout on our website that will reward the club with a 10% commission on all orders placed until the end of July.
We are happy for you to promote your code to your members anyway you like including email and social media.

Retailing of custom branded product relevant to current conditions
1 – Custom Water bottles
When things begin to return to normality it is safe to assume we will no longer be sharing water bottles for the foreseeable future.
How about having these custom made with club logo and perhaps include space for someone’s name.
Order between now and 15th June for a 10% discount.
Example discounted pricing;
750ml digitally printed – 50+ = £3.78,  100+ = £3.24, 250+ = £2.88 (6 weeks delivery)
Other bottle sizes and 1 and 2 colour print is also available.
It might not make the club a fortune but every little helps .. and it will also help promote the club.

2 – Custom Solo Skills Balls
One of the hottest rugby products of lockdown.
Our factory is pretty flat out with production of our stock balls having been shut for a few weeks but we could squeeze a small number of custom solo skills balls into production so act quickly on this one.
£11.50 for 6 week delivery or £10.80 on a 14 week delivery

3 – Custom Facemasks
A new product for us! We have developed a high quality reusable facemask. Made from a polyester Eyedroplet material and with antibacterial features. Masks are available in Adult and Junior sizes and can be customised to any design through sublimation of front of masks. Do let us know if you would like full details sent to you.
50 + = £4.50, 100 + = £4, 500 + = £3.50  (2 week delivery)

If desired sales could be taken via an online club shop on our website with either delivery to individuals or to one address for club to organise distribution. (With delivery to one address we would offer free delivery of product on the online club shop)

Have an online auction…
Could you ask your members, supporters and indeed the local community to donate items or experiences?
There are probably a number of websites that could host these for you but one suggestion is www.jumblebee.co.uk

Host an Outdoor Cinema Event
Restaurants, pubs and cinemas are likely to be some of the last things allowed to reopen.
Why not host an outdoor cinema event at the club making money via ticket sales, food and drink and potentially other fundraising activities. Depending on lockdown conditions this could be a drive in or a normal outdoor cinema experience.
We have negotiated some preferred rates with a couple of highly rated suppliers;
www.skylightcinema.co.uk  – Offers huge 10m screens and high definition projectors; but it does need to be fairly dark for showings.
www.shinecinema.co.uk   – Offer outdoor cinema events using huge LED screens which means screening can take place in daylight allowing for both child friendly timing and the opportunity of multiple showings in a day.
Both providers have many years’ experience and can support you with all you need to know about hosting an outdoor cinema event this summer or autumn.

We’d love to hear your feedback and share other ideas that you or your club have.
At this most challenging of times we know we all need to pull together, and it would be great to help in whatever way we can.
We all look forward to playing the sport we love very soon.
