The Barrel is a notorious Strongman classic, so we are now rolling out our
barrel to the Strongmen of the rugby world.
The lifting of Barrels is an all-round, all embracing exercise which encompasses elements of dead lifting, power cleans and of clean and press. Training with the Barrel allows for Functional Movement and requires power, good technique, control and muscle endurance. As such the Barrel can claim to be a resistance object that develops complete Dynamic Core Stability.
The barrel's shape and size give it human morph proportions in terms of the centering of the weight in its convex middle (belly) and its uniform split between top and bottom half. Thus creating an accurate tackling shape and giving rise to a product which lowers the Tackling height, thus improving technique and player safety.
